Monday is processing day at the farm which starts around 6 a.m. and can last well into the evening with approximately 300 chickens being slaughtered, scaled and plucked, eviscerated and packaged for sale. Delbert is always the first one to start preparing for processing day, arriving to start around 5:30 a.m.

Delbert Garrett carries a chicken that had escaped back to the kill station, Monday, Sept. 17, 2018. The old milking barn now serves as the processing center and the farm's store. Delbert's grandpa took over the family farm and in 1949 and started farming with milk cows. The dairy farm was liquidated in 2000.
